Welcome reception

The opening reception will take place on Monday from 18:00 on in the B-in restaurant located next to the conference centre. All conference participants, registered accompanying persons and exhibitors are welcome at the reception where drinks and finger food will be served.

Town hall reception

The city of Bruges invites us for a welcome reception in the magnificent town hall of Bruges on Tuesday at 19:00. A guided tour in the building will be offered and drinks and appetizers will be served. The number of participants is limited, invited speakers and the 150 first registrants will get a voucher in their conference bag!

Conference dinner

On Thursday evening all participants and accompanying persons are invited for the conference dinner. From 19:00 on, a pre-dinner drink will be served in the inner garden of the “Oud Sint Jan” conference center. The dinner will be served in the main room of the Oud Sint Jan and promises you to be succulent and delicious! After the dinner we welcome you to have a drink and a dance as a DJ will make the party complete!

Morning jogging

To account for all the good lunches and dinners at IM2015 we organise a morning jogging session! On Thursday a 5 km and a 10 km tour will be proposed. Both groups will leave at 7:15 at the entrance of the conference center. So be sure to take your running shoes with you and join for this jogging session! Cultural visits

For the cultural visits on Wednesday afternoon, we offer you a variety of interesting visits in Bruges. As a visit to Bruges isn’t complete without a boat trip on its canals, every cultural visit ends with one. You get to see the nicest places of the city from a completely new perspective! Please register for the visit of your choice before Tuesday 13:45 at the registration desk.

World heritage walk

Bruges’ city centre was declared world heritage by Unesco in 2000. Obviously, a guided tour through the unique historic core is a must for every Bruges debutant! From the Market Square and the Belfry to the Burg square, the Beguinage (Begijnhof) and Minnewater.


Folk tales and legends

During this mysterious walk the many folk tales and legends painting a striking picture of Bruges will appeal to your imagination, make you smile and surprise you with their popular wisdom. You decide what to believe!

Historical beer walk

With hundreds of different kinds of beer, Belgium is a true paradise for lovers of the liquid gold. While taking you along pleasant inns and bars, your guide tells you fascinating stories and facts that show you how the city of Bruges has contributed to upholding the honour of the country for many decades.


Chocolate Walk

Fancy a sweet treat? The Choc!guide takes you on a delicious journey of exploration and discovery along numerous chocolate shops and pampers your taste buds with scrumptious chocolate. Time to awaken the sweet tooth in you!

Groeninge Museum

The Groeninge Museum offers a varied overview of the history of Belgian plastic arts. Although the Flemish Primitives are a high point, you will also marvel at top 18th and 19th-century neoclassic pieces, masterpieces from Flemish Expressionism and post-war modern art.


Brewery "De halve maan"

De halve Maan (1564) is the oldest active brewery in the historic city centre of Bruges. Their house brew is Brugse Zot, a spirited top-fermented beer made from malt, hops and special yeast. This deliciously refreshing beer can be tested on the premises.

Boat trip on the canals

A visit to Bruges isn’t complete without a boat trip on its canals. You get to see the nicest places of the city from a completely new perspective. Let yourself float on the water and come back by foot in the nice city of Bruges.
